The process

  1. Get your DOT medical exam

A certified medical examiner checks your health and fills out your medical card.

  2. Apply at the DMV

Submit the commercial license application with your medical form, and pay the fee.

  3. Pass the knowledge tests

  4. Get your learner permit

You must hold your commercial learner permit at least 14 days before the skills test.

  5. Finish Entry Level Driver Training

First time Class A and Class B applicants must complete approved ELDT training. Our programs cover it.
